To fall in line with the industry standard formula, UK Mail has changed its method of calculation which will apply all consignments carried from 1st June 2010.

From time to time it is necessary to calculate the volumetric weight of a package as the cost can be affected by the amount of space it occupies in transit.

If the volumetric weight exceeds the dead weight of the package then our policy is to charge the greater weight.

The industry standard conversion formula is: Length (cms) x width (cms) x height (cms)/4500 as shown in the example diagram below.
